There are people out there. My granddaughter waited in line to see Olivia Rodrigo, and she has Taylor Swift tickets. Bruno Mars is another one. The problem is entities like Ticketmaster that make the concerts too expensive. Congress is now looking into the problem, whatever that means. There are too many middlemen between the fans and the artists now, that weren't there in our time. That needs to change. Artists get very little rid terms of royalties from Spotify, unless they get a crazy number of hits.
Thank-you so much for your insight, Mary. Gotta wonder why it's so out of hand these days. One of my well-to-do students paid for four tickets to see Sammy Hagar and the Circle downtown Orlando last year. Cost him over $800.00! I was gifted one of the tickets. The show itself was one of the worst I've ever been to; and I am a huge Sammy and Michael Anthony fan. Very disappointing for the money spent. I guess, when the tickets get to be too expensive, even for rich folk, ain't nobody gonna go.
Again, I blame Ticketmaster. Even the artists don't like Ticketmaster, but it is basically the only option out there, for music and sports. Back in the 60's, on Friday nights at the Y in Racine, we danced to up and coming bands for a buck. Bands like The Association, The Buckinghams, The Hollies, (Graham Nash was with them then), The Grass Roots, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Turtles, etc. Of course, minimum wage was $1.10 back then too. But if they could get Ticketmaster out of the middle of things, with their facility fees, their order fees, and all the other fees that they tick on to the ticket prices, consumer prices would go way down.

The artists don't like Ticketmaster either, but they do don't have other options either.
