I would recommend that any new player start practicing the full F barre chord without delay. 20 times at the start of each practice session, as a warm-up, right after the spider.
There have always been those select few students who flat-out refuse to learn how to play the "F" chord, which in turn, limits any further advancement in their practice. I have been teaching since 1996; and to this day, I have no idea why it is such a hated chord for beginners. Most of my students eventually get it with no problem.
I learned early on as a teenager that if I was going to play the guitar and refer to myself as a guitarist, there would be zero room for excuses for not learning everything I possibly could learn on the guitar. I never had any preconceived notions about what I could, would or should play or not play on the guitar. It baffles me that some beginners grasp the need to dismiss the F chord, with such suffocating tenacity.

I forced myself because I love Dylan and you can’t play Dylan without the F chord.
