I am right there with you! Dan inspired me to play again and try to write songs. I lived in Colorado when I was turned on to him. I wore out the Vinyl on all his albums! I saw him in Fort Collins back in 1982 I think! It would be amazing to hear what he would be doing now!

Thanks Keenan. Same here. I didn't start "really" listening to Fogelberg until a friend of mine (then), lent her Innocent Age album to me. Here is a review I did on that album: https://davidgarski.substack.com/p/dan-fogelberg-the-innocent-age-1981

By the mid 1980's, having moved into my first apartment, I sat and practiced my guitar to all of those earlier albums. My favorite is "Netherlands", without question. I got to see him twice. Once in Orlando in the mid 90's and then again in Clearwater in 2000. Both were acoustic shows. I knew I was in the midst of greatness. I remember the morning when I shot out of bed and got onto my computer. Something told me to check his website. It was then, I discovered he had died. Imagine the music he would be doing now had he not taken it all to the grave with him.

Yeah my concert was acoustic too. And Netherlands is my fav! Incredible. If I recall he played most of the instruments on that? Always on my playlist and I listen to him every week!

I went to a Catholic high school and Fogelberg’s music always reminds me of high school retreats.

I think I discovered something tonight on the guitar. I was practicing "Hard to say" from Fogelberg, it's tuned to open D. As I was goofing around with it, I suddenly realized that it's the same tuning as "Someone's been telling you stories." Still gotta figure it out though.
