What is it about music that we need so much?

Imagining life without music.

What is your favorite song? How about your favorite album? Kinda hard to pinpoint just one song or album, isn't it? Why is that?

First of all, you have to stop and think about what music means to you. Do you simply enjoy it as a background distraction while you're cleaning the house or driving your car to the grocery store? Or is it because one particular song reminds you of someone or some place? Maybe your parents took you to a concert when you were a child, and the music just moved you. You danced and you sang, even though you didn't know the lyrics. Every time you hear a certain song, it takes you back to that place in time in your memory, and it may bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eye.

Secondly, what would your life be like without music? Can you even begin to imagine a world without music? It is almost impossible to think of music not being a significant part of our lives.

My favorite song doesn't exist. There are far too many songs that tie to specific memories for me…
