Hotel California was The Eagle's 5th studio album, recorded and released in 1976.
Kind of difficult to believe that this album is 46 years old (as of this year, 2022). There are several stories about who actually wrote the title track, "Hotel California". Guitarist Don Felder claims that he wrote and recorded the original music in his California beach home and proposed it to Eagles founders, Don Henley and Glenn Frey who subsequently wrote the lyrics. Henley and Felder claim that they wrote the entire song and that Felder and Joe Walsh merely wrote the iconic dueling guitar solos.
There have been many other stories about the origins of the title track including the mysterious meanings to the song; and the strange pictures on the album covers. The album itself had three radio hits including, "Hotel California", "New kid in town" and "Life in the fast lane".
