The Art of Music
The existence of the human element of imperfections, mistakes and feeling in music, has gone missing.
I wrote the following article on September 20, 2014. It is just as relevant today.
Yes, music is a form of art. A form of art, like any other form of art, be it painting, drawing, writing, photography, sculpting and basket weaving. Art requires knowledge of the craft. Art requires the combined efforts and significant elements of talent and skill to create something that reflects the way we feel and the way we think. Most of all, it reflects what is in our heart. If you are someone who draws or is a painter or maybe even a photographer, your world is based on perceived color, light and shadow put to a specified medium. This medium could be a canvas and an easel, the various paint colors and brushes. The painter envisions a picture and begins the task of using endless hours of practice and methods to bring that vision to life. The photographer’s world is based on capturing a moment in time that will never happen again. The photographer sees the finished photograph before it is captured, …
