We all deal with sounds we like and sounds we don’t like. Some people like the sound of a baby laughing, some hate the sound of fingernails on a chalkboard. Some can sleep peacefully to the sounds of the ocean, while others are wide awake. What are some sounds that you like and some that you hate? Here is my list of both.
Pleasing to my ears.
1) Acoustic Piano, Rhodes electric piano, acoustic, rock and jazz guitar, bass guitar, drums, horn and string ensembles.
2) A beautiful woman with a sultry singing voice and laughter.
3) Absolute quiet.
4) Ocean waves, sounds of the beach, (except for seagulls).
5) Laughter after a good joke.
6) Lightning and thunderstorms.
7) Notice on my phone when money gets transferred to my checking account.
8) Crackling of a campfire.
Sounds like spikes in my eardrums.
1) Dogs barking, especially "yip-yap" dogs!
2) Children, babies, infants, toddlers crying, screaming or pitching a fit.
3) Leaf blowers, and all other lawn maintenance machines.
4) Screaming, yelling, arguing from loud, obnoxious people of any kind.
5) Crowds and too many people in one room all talking loudly.
6) A leaking, dripping faucet, small babbling brooks and creeks, trickling water (or liquids) of any kind.
7) Anyone honking their horn behind me while I'm trying to take a nap.
8) Disrespectful upstairs neighbors.
9) People who try to sing, who think they can actually sing, but have absolutely no singing talent.
10) Alarms of any kind. (i.e. car, fire, clocks).
