Honestly, I was not a huge "Cars" fan when they were popular in those early years of the 1980's. The only real reason I even know the following list of songs is because the guys I grew up with. You see, I was the oldest of the group of about seven dudes. Mark, Curt, Mike and Jim were big time into The Cars. This meant that whether or not I liked the music, I was going to hear it when all of us hung together. I don't own any Cars vinyl, tapes or CD's, but the list of songs below are songs that bring me back to the days when we were all young kids riding motorcycles, going out to bars and camping in northern Wisconsin every July.
I would like to dedicate this article and all of these songs to my brother from another mother, Michael W. Hansen who passed away on June 3, 2020. As I listen to these songs, they remind me of Mike and all the good times we had so many years ago. Rest in Peace, Mike.
