Anyone who knows me as a musician, knows that I am a huge Winger fan, since the very first album in 1988. Then, in 1993, I bought “Pull”, and was absolutely floored. It has been one of my all time favorite rock albums to date.
Many years ago, my brother from another mother, good friend and band mate, Mike Walker and I drove over to the west coast of Florida one night to see Kip do his solo acoustic show. It was an almost religious experience for both of us. The music that was coming off of his “green” 12-string acoustic guitar was like nothing we had ever heard before.
Kip recorded several solo albums in the 1990’s. This was when we all got a chance to see and hear the other side of his artistic genius. I’ve listened to those albums hundreds of times over the years, and I am still inspired by them every time.
I have been following Rick Beato for a few years; and I have always wondered why he never mentioned or talked about the band Winger. Then today, by my astonishing surprise, I find that he finally did an interview with Kip. I had no idea these two have known each other for years. I hope that Rick brings Kip back along with Reb Beach.
