Have you ever wondered why the music being played today has almost no substance or originality? Why do so many songs sound like so many other songs? Why do piano, saxophone, guitar and drum solos only exist in older music? Why do pop songs only have four chords? Where are the new guitar heroes? Where are the drum heroes? Where are the rock bands? Where are the real musicians?
Oh, so many questions about today's music. Okay, so, this article is my opinion based on personal knowledge, experience and 40+ years of observances. I have been a practicing musician my entire life. I have been teaching music for 26 years.
Sometimes, a student will bring to me a new song that he or she wants to learn on the guitar. Since it's a guitar song, it is usually something categorized under the "country" genre.
