Yes, it's true. I am offering Skype lessons again.
This will be strictly for beginners and intermediate students only.
Two of my students and I have been experimenting for the past several weeks trying to figure out a way to do remote webcam lessons. "Zoom Meeting" didn't work because of noise cancellation settings. So, I suggested that we try using Skype. It worked great! The only thing is, each person must use a cell device like a phone or ipad. It doesn't work on laptops or desktop computers. This is actually a good thing because cell phones are easier to use anyway.
What is the one downfall to doing online webcam lessons?
There is this one nasty little problem called "buffering" or lag between devices. In other words, it is difficult for both people to play together at the same time. It's digital - and digital only works one direction at a time. Just watch the news when they go to a reporter doing a remote. There is a lag of several seconds between signals. There is no "real time" communication. The technology behind fixing Lag has yet to be discovered.
But no worries.
I have had several Skype lessons in the past two months and it has worked fantastic.
