In the late 1970's, the only Dan Fogelberg music I knew about was being played on the radio. I didn't know who Dan Fogelberg actually was until about 1982. I knew of his pop songs, but I never paid much attention to who he was, his history or where he was from.
I don't remember how or why it happened, but one night, I was at a friend of a friends’ house listening to music. There were about a dozen of us sitting around her house and drinking beer. She and I were in her parents kitchen, sitting at the table talking about guitar songs. She asked me if I knew who Dan Fogelberg was. She showed me the double album she had from her collection. The album was called "The Innocent Age". I looked at it as she told me about the songs on the album. "Run for the roses", "Leader of the band", "Same old lang syne" and "Hard to say". I had heard those songs on the radio many times, but I didn't know it was from this album. She let me take the album home so I could make a cassette copy of it. I listen…
