Me: "So, what kind of music are you listening to lately?"
Kyle: "Post Malone."
Me: "Who?"
Kyle: "Post Malone."
Me: "Is that a Jazz thing?"
Kyle: "A what?"
Me: "Jazz. You know, the Utah Jazz?"
Kyle: "No, it’s just regular pop music."
Me: "No, the Utah Jazz. You know, the NBA team? Basketball?"
Kyle: "Huh?"
Me: "Karl Malone, in the post?"
Kyle: "No, Post Malone is a singer."
Me: "His name is Post?"
Kyle: "Yeah..."
Me: "Does he sing about cereal?"
Kyle: "Cereal?"
Me: "Yeah, like Karl Malone eating Post cereal."
Kyle: "I don't know what you're talking about."
Me: "That makes two of us."
Kyle: "His name is Post Malone. He's a singer."
Me: "Maybe he's Karl Malone's illegitimate son who sings about cereal?"
Welcome to my world Dave. As a parent of 3 teenagers, I believe it may be me that is getting out of touch. Saying things like...."Back in my day..." Ha. At least music theory is still valid. It would be good to hear some of the new groups use some of it :) Barry
