For as far back as I can remember, I have always thought that guitar strings are relatively the same, no matter which brand you get. Honestly, it is almost impossible to find "bad" strings for your acoustic guitar. There are, of course, better sounding strings. Here's what I usually get for my guitars.
Dean Markley strings.
I have been playing Dean Markley Blue Steel acoustic, electric and bass guitar strings for well over thirty years. Why these strings? Well, I listen for what I call, a "bell" or "piano" sound in the strings, when they are played. I have been playing and practicing the guitar since 1976; and it has been my experience that Dean Markley makes the best acoustic strings. Blue Steels are a little pricier, but they are absolutely worth the extra cost. They seem to last forever. As with all guitar strings, they do eventually lose their "bell" ring over time. For me, Blue Steels still sound very good, even after six, nine, twelve months of playing.
Which gauge string do I usually get?
Again, for as long as I can recall, I have always played "11's". Why? "11's" to me, have always been the perfect balance for playing rhythm and melody. The dynamics of "11's" are much easier to control than heavier strings. I like "12's", but they do take a toll on your fingers after a couple of long sets. "12's" are great if you're just playing chords and need to play them loudly. I'm a light player, and "11's" are perfect. I highly recommend Dean Markley Blue Steel 11-52 light gauge acoustic strings.

DR strings.
A few years ago, I went to the local Sam Ash music store to get strings for my acoustic guitar. Unfortunately, they were all out of Dean Markley "11's". So, I needed strings, any strings. I’d known the guitar department manager, Jeb, for many years. I asked him what he recommended in place of the Dean Markley's, and he suggested that I try the DR acoustic strings. I trusted him that he knew what he was talking about. I purchased the string, put them on my guitar and they sounded incredible. There was a true "piano" sound to these particular strings. I think I had them on that guitar for a couple of years because they kept their tone for a long time.

Yes, there are many brands of acoustic guitar strings, and most of them will sound great on your guitar. I have my preferences and recommendations. Since so many music stores are closing these days, I usually buy my strings on Amazon. If Dean Markley Blue Steels or DR acoustic strings are in stock, I will absolutely order them. You should get a set for your guitar and try them out. I highly recommend either brand.
