I recorded this cassette tape from the radio on September 20, 1982. This clip goes out to all of my Southeastern Wisconsin friends who grew up listening to all of the rock stations that used to exist in Milwaukee, including 97 WLPX.
I have always been a fan of Ted Nugent’s music, and sometimes his political rants are great entertainment. Way back in the early 1980’s, I did a lot of recording from local FM radio to cassette tape. It was the early versions of me creating playlists.
97 WLPX, out of Milwaukee was a powerhouse rock station back then. The only real competition it had was WLUP out of Chicago. Growing up between these two metropolis’s, (in Racine, WI), the abundance of great music was always just a half a turn of the glowing tuner dial on my monster stereo system.
Ted Nugent was a guest DJ, and I just had to get it on tape. Well, here it is for your listening pleasure. Hope you enjoy this audio clip and it brings back some fond memories.
UPDATE - Apologies for the audio drop-out towards the end of the clip. Not sure what happened there.
